报告摘要:Malaria is a parasitic infection spread by the bites of infected Anopheles mosquitoes. An estimated 216 million malaria cases and 445,000 deaths occurred worldwide in 2016. Human movement brings a big challenge to malaria control and elimination. In this talk, I will introduce two approaches that are frequently used in modeling spatial spread of infectious disease in a fragmented environment. Some existing and new results on the effect of human movement on the persistence of malaria or vector-borne diseases are presented.
